What is Really Holding You Back In Your Business?
It’s a unique business owner who—at some point—doesn’t feel doubtful.
Either you begin to experience overwhelm, burnout, or you aren’t reaching your goals and can’t seem to get past the income period you’ve found yourself in.
Overwhelm or burnout a normal part of being a business owner, but staying there isn’t. Thriving small business owners figure out how to surmount the obstacles and overwhelm and continue to grow their business. And the first step is to determine what is specifically holding you back from moving forward.

Let’s look at some common reasons that could be holding you back and how to overcome them.
Lack of Clarity In Your Business Niche
When you don’t have a clear idea of what it is you want from your business, you’re experiencing a lack of clarity. Maybe you aren’t clear on who you want to serve, or can’t quite envision your product funnel. Or maybe you can’t even picture your epic training course in its entirety.
These are all symptoms of a lack of clarity, and they can stop a profitable business in its tracks.
If you’re experiencing a lack of clarity, take a step back and do some brainstorming (or brain dumping) to get everything out in the daylight where you can see it. Stepping back alone can help you get clear on what your next step is.
Getting clear is critical; I liken it to when I clean my house. I’m not sure about you, but when my home is untidy, I feel closed in and unclear, mainly because my home is also my office.
So if you think about your business, in the same way, you can see that clearing an open path to move forward is vital. Clarity then leads to honing in and better focus on what it is that you want.
Lack of Business Focus
If you’re clear on your goals, but you’re having trouble moving forward consistently, then a lack of focus might be your struggle. Can you relate to this scenario, you head to your office each morning with high intentions, but by lunch, it’s clear you haven’t accomplished anything you set out to do.
Please don’t think that you’re an inadequate person or even a poor business owner. That only tells you, you have trouble focusing on the next step that needs to happen to make your dreams come true.
Try this:
With your end goal in mind, brainstorm the next physical action, you need to take to achieve it. So if your goal is to build a 4-week course, then your next step might be to poll your mailing list about what your audience needs/wants from you.
Ever heard that saying; you can eat an entire elephant one bite at a time? The first step is to set a massive goal for the year; the next step is to think about what would you need to do in the next six months to get closer. Where would you need to be in 6 months to be halfway there?
The third step is to get clear on what you would need to do to get to that six-month goal. Break it down to 3 months, what would you need to do in the next three months to get halfway to the 6-month goal. Following the third step break down the 3-month goal to monthly goals to get to the three-month goal.
Now, what would you need to do to get to your monthly goal? I want you to now think about what you would need to do weekly to move toward that monthly goal; now break it down even further to your daily goals to get to your weekly goal. I even go further and break it down to hourly goals so I can stay on track for my daily goal.
If you can implement this fully inro your life, with all of your goals, you will have the success want, I guarantee it.
No Excitement
Maybe you are bored? Possibly you are holding back because you have lost interest in that business you once loved? Unfortunately, this is pretty common among solopreneurs. That's why we see so many of entrepreneurs jumping from business to business, never spending enough time in any one endeavour to see it through to success. Having an entrepreneurial mindset can also cause this problem; the excitement of the idea and creating it is incredible! Although staying power is the hard part, which is why there is a phenomenon that most founders don't become the CEO or end owner of the business.

Staying excited about your business starts with having a dream that keeps you going even when faced with the day-to-day struggle that every entrepreneur encounters. Not everything is fun when you're running a business, but if you keep your "why" in mind, it can help you get past the dull spots.
Want to know how to fix all these issues (and more) quickly? It's a simple strategy that the world's most successful entrepreneurs have been using for decades: vision boards. These fun and colourful tools are indeed just what you need to clarify your dreams, work out your next steps, and stay excited about your business.
Creating a Vision board can be as simple as a few images clipped from a magazine and pinned to a corkboard, or as complex as a framed poster with hand-lettered quotes and personal inspiration. The decision is yours. It's entirely personal, super fun, and best of all, it works.
When you join my email newsletter community, I will personally send my vision board starter kit! In my Facebook group, we are about to start a vision board challenge.
We are going to discuss what exactly is a vision board, the power of a vision board, how to make them work in every area of your life; we will also discuss the tools and materials you can use, and I will be giving away the workbook to help you succeed. I hope to see you inside my Facebook group and sharing this experience with me.
